ABOUT THE JOB
A Health Tech Solution Company based in Pretoria is actively seeking a Research Audiologist to conduct research, bench studies, and user studies, accompanied by the necessary documentation, to demonstrate the efficacy of products in alignment with regulatory and legal requirements. The ideal candidate should possess an M. Communication Pathology in Audiology.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct user studies, usability engineering studies, RETSPL studies, Clinical validation studies and all other product related studies to support the product development team (including contextual discovery, experience mapping, diary studies, early-stage concept and prototype testing, lab based and contextual usability and accessibility testing).
- Manage all aspects and requirements of the research study being performed (including planning, time allocation, funding, participant recruitment, performing the relevant testing and documentation).
- Work with the team to develop and advocate appropriate research strategies to understand user needs for a service, and to continually test and improve the service.
- Foster a culture of team involvement in user research, team analysis, design rationale and decision making based on user needs.
- Design, execute and analyse quantitative and qualitative surveys.
- Effectively document and communicate user research findings to the team and the wider organisation.
- Prepare reports and relevant documentation required for regulatory submissions.
- Liaise with the relevant teams to turn user research findings into stories and actions that lead to valuable product and service features.
EXPERIENCE
1 - 2 years (post comm serve)
- Audiological research: design and implementation
- Report writing and documentation
- Fitment of hearing aids
- Fine tuning of hearing aid settings
- Customer relations and relationship management
- Working in a clinical environment and interacting with both clinical and non-clinical and academic colleagues
- The development of research protocols and the management and organization of data (user studies).
